Following the shooting at the synagogue in Halle, Lauder said: “Unfortunately the time has come when all Jewish places of worship and Jewish communal sites need to have enhanced round-the-clock security provided by state security services. We also need immediately to launch a unified front against neo-Nazi and other extremist groups, which threaten our well-being."

In recent report, UN Special Rapporteur notes alarming increase in antisemitism from far-right groups
The report, which will be presented at the UN General Assembly later this month, pays specific mention to the World Jewish Congress, stating that WJC “reported an increase in neo-Nazi marches throughout Europe that promote antisemitism, xenophobia and Nazi glorification, and an increase in the proliferation of Nazi symbols."

Israel’s foreign minister confirms initiative to sign non-aggression treaties with Arab Gulf states
Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz confirmed that he is working on a “historic” initiative to sign non-aggression treaties with Arab Gulf states. The initiative, he said in the tweet, “will put an end to the conflict (with the Arab states) and allow civilian cooperation until peace agreements are signed.”

Jewish Agency Chairman Isaac Herzog and 100 Olim (immigrants) from 45 countries convened on Saturday at the Kotel, Western Wall, to recite the Selichot, special prayers recited by Jews worldwide during the days before and between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.
