Friend,
The struggle for justice for Palestinians is far from over. Unfortunately, Israel’s government has continued to demonstrate why a ceasefire is not enough. In the month since late May’s ceasefire, Israel’s government has:
-
Killed 2 Palestinian teenagers, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old, at protests against illegal Israeli settlements.1
-
Joined far-right groups in attacking Palestinians outside their homes in Sheikh Jarrah, wounding 20 Palestinians with batons, rubber bullets, and tear gas.2 They also violently targeted medics—a frequent tactic,3 along with the ongoing violent targeting and attempted silencing of journalists.4
-
Wounded 33 Palestinians and arrested 17 more while forcibly clearing out space for a far-right Israeli protest, where people yelled hateful chants like “Death to Arabs” and “May your village burn.” Defending the protest, Israel’s Internal Security Minister said: “The right to demonstrate is a right in all democracies”—making it clear that the right to protest does not extend to Palestinians.5
No wonder Israel’s own human rights group and international group Human Rights Watch have recognized the Israeli government’s systemic oppression of Palestinians as apartheid.6
Since the U.S. government funds these apartheid atrocities, we’re uniquely situated to hold the Israeli government accountable to international humanitarian law. But with Republicans and Democrats alike trying to silence legitimate criticism of Israel, Rashida’s bold voice and leadership are more critical now than ever.
Can you chip in today to defend Rashida and support her outspoken advocacy for Palestinian rights and for marginalized people in our district?

As the first Palestinian-American woman in Congress and one of the first Muslim women in Congress, Rashida is already a target. But she’s never backed down from bullies before, so she’s not deterred by increased death threats when she speaks up for Palestinian rights.
She continues to demand an end to U.S. funding of the Israeli apartheid system, which for decades has subjected Palestinians to inhumane treatment and racism.
In the past month, we gathered over 150,000 signatures on petitions to the Biden administration demanding not just a ceasefire, but an end to the internationally-recognized illegal occupation, human rights abuses, and war crimes.7 Thank you for taking action!
Rashida also sprung into action in the wake of a report that social media platforms were censoring content and disabling user accounts raising awareness about Israeli state-backed violence on Palestinians.8 She sent a letter to the parent companies of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, urging the social media platforms to stop censoring Palestinian political speech. And we gathered 17,000 petition signatures echoing that demand.9
It’s essential that we keep hearing and sharing Palestinian voices on the ground. And thanks to your support, last month we raised over $65,000 for organizations amplifying Palestinians’ on-the-ground stories and sending aid to Gazans in need. Thank you!
As the illegal occupation goes uninterrupted, we cannot turn away. We need to keep the spotlight and the pressure on until Palestinians’ humanity and equal rights are finally recognized. And we need leaders who will sustain this push.
A justice-seeker her whole life, Rashida will not back down in the fight for oppressed people in Palestine and around the world. So we’ve got to make sure she stays in Congress and demonstrate our collective strength and support.
Will you have Rashida’s back as she keeps pushing for Palestinian human rights? Please chip in whatever you can afford today.
Thank you,
Team Rashida
