Happy International Women in Engineering Day, John!
As a 20-year Navy veteran and nuclear engineer, Elaine was part of a historic wave of Democratic scientists who flipped red-to-blue seats that were key to securing our House majority in 2018.
In Congress, she’s fighting for data-based solutions to tackle the climate crisis, protect our environment, and ensure that Coastal Virginia has the infrastructure and resources we need to become a national and global leader in the clean energy future!
Elaine won’t stop fighting for the progress we deserve -- but she’s a top target for national Republicans in 2022 and is defending an R+1 district. Pitch in ahead of her critical FEC end-of-quarter fundraising deadline to make sure we have the resources to keep her advocating on our behalf in the halls of power!
Elaine joined the Navy when she was just 17 years old -- enrolling in the Naval Academy as a history and physics major, just 17 years after they began allowing women to serve.
She forged her own path as one of the first women in the Navy’s nuclear power program. While deployed to the Middle East, she oversaw eight nuclear reactors and was responsible for training all 700 nuclear operators onboard.
Elaine has continued to use her problem-solving skills to deliver real results -- she was ranked the most effective lawmaker representing Virginia and the 2nd most effective freshman member of the House overall!
She’s ready to do more Good Work -- but outside groups will spend millions to try and unseat her (no really, they spent over $3 MILLION against her last cycle!). Will you chip in to her FEC end-of-quarter fundraising goal to ensure that she has what she needs to compete in this toss-up race?
Thank you,
Team Elaine
