Team, both John Hickenlooper and I are the new kids on the block.

Thanks to folks like you, we won our races and secured a Democratic majority in the Senate. But now, we’re facing another uphill battle: Our second quarter FEC fundraising deadline.

You see, every three months, candidates for federal office must compile all of their fundraising numbers and send them over to the Federal Election Commission. Then, those numbers go public.

As freshmen Senators, you can bet everyone will be watching John’s and our campaigns to see if our momentum last year was just a fluke. I don’t want to give anyone a reason to think our Senate majority is vulnerable.

But Mitch McConnell is hoping we get complacent so he can snatch it out from under us. Already, his shady donors have raised $40 million to defeat vulnerable Democrats.

So, I’m personally asking if you’ll split a donation between us newbies — John and me — to help reach our FEC goals, report strong numbers, and protect our Democratic Senate majority?
