21 House Republicans vote against awarding Congressional Gold Medal to all police officers who responded on Jan. 6

Sickening. Weak. Traitorous. That’s what the 21 Republicans who voted NO on this bill are for their unwillingness to give the police officers who defended the Capitol on January 6th recognition for their bravery.

Not only did these members of Congress promote the “Big Lie” that encouraged the MAGA mob to storm the Capitol building, but now they won’t even vote to thank the police officers. These officers risked their own lives to save members of Congress, Congressional staff, and other Capitol employees.

Of course, this list of 21 Republicans included Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

We deserve better out of our elected officials. But, unfortunately, these Republicans prove time and time again that they cannot do even the bare minimum.
