Rep. Boebert Claims Migrant Families Are "Self-Separating" at Southern Border
This past Thursday during an appearance on Newsmax, a conservative-leaning news outlet, Rep. Boebert discussed her visit to the border in McAllen, Texas in early June -- the same visit in which she used a cardboard cutout of Vice President Kamala Harris for a strange publicity stunt.

True to form, Rep. Boebert claimed on-air that the current surge in migration was "mission accomplished" for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

"The hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens that are crossing our borders, the families that are self-separating, Greg."
Rep. Boebert goes on to add that "this is a full-blown crisis and parents are self-separating from their children because of the Biden policies," Boebert said.

"So, they are purposefully self-separating from their children, putting their children in the hands of the cartels and meeting them on the other side, knowing that we will reunite them on the other side."

Rep. Boebert has not provided evidence for these statements.
What Rep. Boebert forgot to mention is that the Trump administration's zero-tolerance policy in 2018 is mainly to blame for the current crisis at the southern border. The policy was part of a strategy meant to curb legal and illegal immigration by forcibly separating families attempting to cross the southern border. Immigration advocates have widely criticized it for being psychologically traumatic and purposefully cruel.

It's clear that Rep. Boebert will do everything within her power to gaslight the American public and defend her dear friend President Donald Trump.

Rep. Boebert's baseless claims that families are "self-separating" is nothing more than a textbook case of fake news. We must act swiftly to combat Rep. Boebert's false narratives.

If you live within Representative Boebert's district (CO-03), please contact her Congressional office at (202) 225-4761 and demand that she explain her assertion that migrant families are "self-separating."
