You Are Invited:
2020-2021 Prize for Cities Awards Ceremony
Tuesday, June 29, 9:30am - 10:30am ET
“Here is a project that started as having nothing to do with climate, but absolutely is climate and inequality related. I can really feel it resonating on the score of thinking differently.” -Jury Member
What makes a project resonate in this moment? That is the question put to our world-class jury of architects and planners, real estate developers, activists, leaders of major international urban agencies and NGOs. Each of the finalists is worthy. But which has the potential to inspire change in other cities? Which should be elevated for a global audience and recognized with the $250,000 grand prize?
Join us next week to find out who the jury selected – and decide for yourself!
Chosen for their outstanding impact addressing climate change and urban inequality, the 2020-2021 finalists are:
- DistritoTec, by Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico
- Kibera Public Space Project, by Kounkuey Design Initiative, Nairobi, Kenya
- London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone, by the Greater London Authority, London, United Kingdom
- Sustainable Food Production for a Resilient Rosario, by the Municipality of Rosario, Rosario, Argentina
- Women’s Action Toward Climate Resilience for the Urban Poor, by the Mahila Housing SEWA Trust, Ahmedabad, India
The ceremony will feature the finalists, members of the jury, and award-winning master of ceremonies Femi Oke:
