Dear John,
Before President Trump worked with the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers to define what “waters of the United States” (“WOTUS” for short) are considered navigable, the government was able to decide that large puddles could be regulated.
More power is now in the hands of the people and local landowners, but over the last few months our farmers and ranchers have seen some alarming trends coming from the EPA and WOTUS overregulation is rearing its ugly head again.
After traveling around the district and visiting with you, I’ve heard this time and time again. WOTUS and regulations like it hurt hard working families and businesses in our district and state.
In the Agriculture Committee, there is a lot of push back. Hope is not lost! But we need to ensure Joe Biden hears from us.
One simple step you could take right now is to leave a comment regarding WOTUS and its damaging impacts on agriculture in our district on the White House website’s contact form. We’ve made waves before, and together we can continue doing so. Thank you for all you do for our district, state, and nation.
Sincerely,
Michelle Fischbach
P.S. You are welcome to forward this email to anyone you know who would be negatively impacted if the EPA brings back the old WOTUS rule. Let's make sure Biden knows the true cost of this overreach.
