Friend, In 2022, One of the most important Congressional races in the country will be right here in Michigan. Democratic Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin represents Michigan’s 8th district, a version of the district I proudly represented before going to the U.S. Senate. A Democratic victory in the 8th isn’t a slam dunk. Trump won there in 2020. Look, Elissa is exactly who we want in public office. Before running for Congress, Elissa was a CIA analyst and served three tours in Iraq alongside our military. And since being elected in 2018, she’s been a champion for Michiganders. On everything from health care to our environment, she’s fought hard for her constituents and our state. Friend, I’m going to do everything I can to make sure Elissa wins in 2022 and I’m asking for your help. Will you split a donation between Elissa and me to help us keep her and our Democratic majority in the U.S. House of Representatives? With our Democratic majority on the line in 2022, Republican groups are already targeting Elissa’s seat. The 8th is a true swing district. In the 18 years between when I represented it and when Elissa won the seat, it was represented solely by Republicans. The district voted for Romney in 2012, Trump in 2016, and Trump again in 2020. That actually makes Elissa the only House Democrat to be representing a district that has voted Republican in all three of the past presidential elections. At the end of this month, Elissa will have to publicly report how much she’s raised for her campaign. Showing a strong number can help us keep serious potential opponents from getting in her race, and keep Republican spending out of Michigan. That’s why I’m asking if you’ll split a donation between Elissa and me to help her hit their end of quarter goal by June 30. Thanks ahead of time for your support! Debbie Debbie Stabenow
