As Rebellion Against Critical Race Theory Grows, Left Turns to Denial, Dismissal <[link removed]> – Perhaps the revolt against critical race theory isn’t just a “conspiracy
theory” after all, but an impassioned opposition to ideas that Americans see as malignant when put into practice. And perhaps it isn’t just a way to dodge talking about race and slavery, as its proponents claim, but a rejection of teaching and talking about these subjects through a warped and wrongheaded ideological lens that will make Americans more racist, not less. The
rebellion against critical race theory is real, and the movement is growing. It has become a serious threat to the agenda of woke social justice crusaders, who apparently thought the revolution was complete. But Americans—and citizens throughout the Western world—are becoming aware of the danger and of the dire implications of what it means when these ideas migrate from the ivory tower and the pages of The New York Times into our everyday
lives. Heritage experts: Jarrett Stepman <[link removed]> and Mike Gonzalez <[link removed]>
Heritage Foundation Condemns Senate Bill Making It Easier to Cheat in Elections <[link removed]> – When it comes to our elections, policymakers should be focused on one goal: making it easier to vote, and
harder to cheat. Sadly, this legislation does the opposite. In reality, this mammoth leftist takeover of elections threatens election security and compromises every American’s fundamental right to vote. It would require nationwide implementation of the worst changes in election rules from the 2020 election, and go even further in eroding and eliminating basic security protocols that states have in place.
Among the long list of bad items, the bill would prevent states and their citizens from truly updating and ensuring the accuracy of voter rolls, determining the qualifications and eligibility of voters, securing the fairness and integrity of elections, participating and speaking freely in the political process, funneling American taxpayer dollars to the campaigns of political incumbents,
and determining the boundaries of their districts. Importantly, the changes recently proposed by Sen. Joe Manchin to S. 1 are cosmetic and do not change the unwise, dangerous, and reckless requirements of this proposal. The Heritage Foundation has worked tirelessly to make our elections accessible, secure and fair. Americans’ faith in the integrity of our electoral process is critical to the health of our republic. We will continue to fight so that each and every eligible American citizen’s vote counts and is not stolen by those who cheat the system Heritage expert: Hans von Spakovsky <[link removed]>
Ending Title 42 Will Make Biden Border Crisis Even Worse <[link removed]> – The Biden administration has directly undermined our nation’s sovereignty, security, and well-being with the Biden border crisis. It is a constitutional crisis when those charged with keeping us safe and enforcing our laws are instead encouraging, facilitating, and rewarding an invasion on our states and local communities. As the administration continues to take steps to make matters worse, their motivations are made plain for all to see. This crisis is by design, and removing what little protections that remain for this country proves that point beyond dispute. The Justice Department Is Justified In Using All The Tools At Its Disposal To Hunt Down Leakers <[link removed]> – Is leaking a necessary evil? No. There are whistleblower protection laws in place and channels to seek recourse through agency inspector generals. Beneath the current uproar lies a simple question: Should law enforcement be allowed to investigate leaks of classified information or not? Law enforcement needs to be able to subpoena records from
whomever they reasonably suspect received leaked information, regardless of whether they are congressmen or journalists. The Justice Department should use all the tools at its disposal to hunt down and prosecute leakers. Heritage expert: Dustin Carmack <[link removed]>
Biden Embraces California’s Zombified Rail Boondoggle <[link removed]> – California’s rail project is a perfect example of something designed to maximize political benefits
rather than the public good. Rather than creating more zombie projects through slush funds and subsidies, Congress should seek to reform federal infrastructure policy by reducing regulatory burdens, removing barriers to investment from the private sector and state governments, and cutting massive subsidies for modes of transportation that only account
for a small percentage of nationwide travel. Such changes would breathe new life into a stale policy area and would make it less likely that taxpayers unwittingly support brain-dead projects. Heritage expert: David
