Friend -- Mitch McConnell just blocked the Senate from even debating our bill to save voting rights.

This is despicable. But make no mistake -- this the fight for voting rights is not over. Today was just the beginning. In just a minute, I’ll explain where we go from here. But first, I need you to chip in $1 or whatever you can to help me and Senate Democrats keep fighting for voting rights. [link removed] DONATE $1 NOW → [link removed]

Here’s my end game: Delivering landmark legislation to President Biden and
watching as his signature makes protected, accessible, secure, and easy voting
the law of the land.

We’ve got to overcome a lot of obstacles to get there, though. And to break
through McConnell’s obstruction and save voting rights, we need to expand our majority in the Senate.

That’s why I’m asking you to chip in $1 or more right now. Your donation will help elect more Democrats to the Senate who will protect voting and our democracy. [link removed]

Let me tell you this about my colleagues in the Senate: no one is confused about
how elections should be in a democracy. Voters elect us to speak for them.

And if voters don’t elect us, we must try harder in the next election to win
them over. What we don’t do in a democracy is make it harder for folks to vote.
Everyone knows this. But Republicans are totally opposed to the simple idea that
everyone who is eligible to vote should be able to vote. It’s incredible. It’s
shameful. One of the most shameful things I’ve seen in a while.

But fighting back is a democratic process too, and that starts with you. I’m asking you to chip in $1 or more to build the strength our majority needs to make laws that protect democracy, not erode it. Can you rush a donation right away? [link removed]

You don’t need me to tell you that the laws Republican state legislatures are
pushing that prohibit early voting on Sundays or make it illegal to give folks
standing in line to vote some water are anything but an affront to democracy.
Once you look at where those laws are being pushed forward, it’s especially
clear that they’re racist as well.

We need to stop this. We can stop this. I’ll keep doing my part and fighting for
the the right to vote -- but I need your help too.

More soon,

Chuck Schumer
