John,
Polls are closing in an hour, you still have time to get there and make your vote count!
We’re feeling energized from an amazing day and an amazing campaign!
This campaign was powered by you -- whether you handed out lit at poll sites, made a grassroots donation, joined a Zoom townhall, or cheered us on social media -- you were part of this movement to win a just recovery for New York. We couldn’t be more grateful.
In Riverdale this morning to open the polls
In person ballots will start to be counted after polls close, but we likely won’t have final results tonight. In fact, it might take a little while, so we wanted to share what to expect.
Tonight the Board of Elections will share the first place vote counts from early and primary votes. But they wont start running the ranked choice vote tallies for a few more days. Right now, they’re telling us that final results are likely to be certified the week of July 12.
It’s a long time, but democracy is worth waiting for. We’ll keep you posted about updates and results when we have them.
Thank you for everything,
Chris Walsh
