Minutes ago, all 50 Democratic senators stood united in a commitment to
protect our democracy -- and moments ago Republicans chose obstruction
instead. They blocked the Senate from even debating democracy with a
filibuster that will take 60 votes to end.
We just Tweeted our analysis of what comes next, including filibuster
reform and some of the key decisions activists must make. Check it out
below and [ [link removed] ]please RT here if you're on Twitter!
One thing we know for certain is that today's vote is just the beginning
of the fight. The next month will be intense as we urge Democrats to
reform the filibuster, defeat Mitch McConnell, and get the job done.
[ [link removed] ]We need your help to be all in this month. Can you chip in $3 or more
so we can organize in West Virginia, organize nationally, engage key
senators, and REFORM THE FILIBUSTER so American democracy can survive?
Chip in here.
If you haven't already, [ [link removed] ]join the grassroots army to reform the
filibuster here.
[ [link removed] ]With the big news that @Sen_JoeManchin will vote YES to proceed with
debate on protecting democracy, here are some thoughts on the landscape,
the forks in the road, the leverage, the key questions for activists (and
pundits) to consider. A thread.
