John,

Today the Senate took a vote on whether to advance voting rights legislation -- and every single Democratic senator supported it, showing that the party is unified in pushing for democracy reform. Today was an important step in the long arc toward the eventual enactment of this critical legislation.

Let's celebrate getting to this point. Today's vote was only possible because grassroots activists like you contacted their senators (some of you have been calling every day -- we see you!), spread the word, and donated to help groups like the NDRC support this bill. So thank you for getting us here.

Now, I'm asking you to make a donation to help us double down on the fight.

The bottom line is that we can't let up. If we do, we lose what could be our last chance to keep America from going down a very dark path toward a return to Jim Crow-like policies and all-out authoritarianism.

So we will keep fighting this fight, just as we will continue fighting for fair maps in states across the country during this year's redistricting. The fight to reform and strengthen our democracy is one that must be waged on multiple levels, and our strategy has always reflected that. And as we fight, we continue to rely on the generous support of this grassroots community.

At the end of the day, the harder the other side fights to kill our democracy, the harder we're going to fight back, for everyone reading this and for everyone in the United States. Thank you for being with us.

"Persistence will win this fight."
