Hi there, Mike here!

This moment has been years in the making. All the doors knocked, the phone calls made, the coalitions built, the credibility earned — Julie Oliver and I are bringing all of our campaign work to the table as we launch Ground Game Texas and build a force to be reckoned with.

We feel that so much is possible, especially if we continue to earn your support. Our plan — to place dynamic, popular issues on city ballots across Texas in November 2022 and to build coalitions from Mission to El Paso, Houston to Grand Prairie, and beyond — can have a tremendous impact. This strategy, alone, could add 100,000 votes or more to statewide turnout, with benefits up and down the ticket.

Will you make a contribution of any amount to Ground Game Texas today? Whether it’s $5, $20, or $100 — your contribution will help us accelerate this work and make sure our efforts are as impactful and widespread as possible.

Yes, I'll contribute! [[link removed]]

We are staffing up and building our team as we speak, ensuring we have both the internal capacity and the organizing power to advance real, systemic change. In Austin, for example, we are hiring a field team to knock doors to build support for marijuana decriminalization (and to oppose a right-wing effort to force the City to hire 500 more police). In South Texas, we are meeting with activists who want to create green jobs and address historic disinvestment in border communities.

Each time we meet with a new coalition, I hear how much opportunity there is — if we can just bring a little investment. How we can flip City Council seats, Mayoral seats, State House seats, and more if we invest in organizers and organizing. If we knock doors and talk to people instead of paying for ads and consultants. If we do the work of building a better Texas, one voter at a time, instead of searching for shortcuts.

What sets Ground Game Texas apart from the political interest groups and establishment actors that show up to take our money and disappear until the next election cycle is that we’re using our grassroots funding to re-invest it right back into our communities.

Friend, we’re so grateful that so many of you are energized and ready to put in the work it takes to ensure our progressive movement continues to grow — so let’s keep up this momentum and set ourselves up for success, together. Please chip in $5 or anything you're able to support Ground Game Texas in this critical work. [[link removed]]

Onwards,

Mike Siegel
