Moments ago, Gov. Greg Abbott announced that he will call lawmakers back for a 30-day special session of the Texas Legislature starting on July 8 .

I want to be clear: This means that everything is once again on the line. Another voter suppression bill is a certainty, as is another attempt to censor what public schools teach about the history of racism and anything else the governor thinks will distract from his failed leadership.
