Last January, my wife and I had to decide whether to move our family into a hotel. At a Minnesota rally protesting the outcome of the 2020 election, an organizer shouted into a bullhorn "We're coming for you" and "Don't make us do something we don't want to do."
Since then, the threats to election officials (from poll workers to county clerks to Secretaries of State) have continued.
But here's what you should know: I won't be intimidated. My enthusiasm for the work of democracy is stronger than ever. The threats won't stop me. They'll only encourage me to stand up and lean in.

According to a recent national report, we who ran the most secure and successful election in memory are "cast as villains; scapegoated for election outcomes that some politicians and voters did not like."
I myself have been called "traitor" and "treasonous" too many times to count, and have even been taunted with the image of a noose.
The work of strengthening our democracy and protecting the right to vote is more important than ever before.
