Friend,
50 years ago, President Nixon declared a war on drugs. Since then, this war has seeped into every aspect of society — from policing and education, to the child welfare system and housing, to employment and immigration. It has been especially devastating to communities of color and people who are experiencing poverty.
Please join us in raising $50,000 this month to end the drug war once and for all. Between now and June 30th, a generous friend of DPA has agreed to match all gifts up to $50,000! That means your gift of $35 will double, becoming $70, a gift of $150 will double to $300 and so on!

The most critical next step toward ending the harsh and invasive drug war is to decriminalize all drugs and invest in health-centered approaches to drug use.
That’s why the Drug Policy Reform Act is so important. Just introduced in Congress last week, it will end criminal penalties for drug possession at the federal level, invest in alternative health-centered approaches, expunge records and provide for resentencing, and eliminate life-long consequences associated with drug arrests and convictions.
Your support will strengthen the fight to stop arresting people for drugs and instead reinvest drug enforcement resources into harm reduction and treatment services, as well as to housing and education.
Friend, we need you in this fight to pass the Drug Policy Reform Act, decriminalize drugs, and end the drug war. Thank you for considering a gift to DPA today.
