Hi John,

The Redistribution Pledge [[link removed]] is a tool to help us show up with personal and collective accountability for the movements fighting for the world that we need.[[link removed]]
As of today, 615 RGers have signed the pledge to move a total of $71.9 million to social justice movements in 2021! In comparison, in 2020, a year of historic Black-led uprisings, growing awareness of wealth inequality laid bare by the COVID19 pandemic, and critically urgent electoral work, our community pledged $68 million over the course of the entire year. We see our members making bold moves for the equitable distribution of land, wealth, and power and answering the call from so many to fund movements for the long haul, within and beyond moments of mass mobilization and attention.

Less than 2 months ago, we launched the revamped Redistribution Pledge [[link removed]] , calling on our community of young people with access to wealth and class privilege to increase our giving in alignment with our values, make concrete commitments to resource social justice movements, move money off of Wall Street, and show up collectively for wealth redistribution in our lifetimes. As we come to the end of our Spring Redistribution Pledge x Membership Drive, we want to share how you responded, and celebrate our collective commitment to redistribution.

There’s still more work to do. Less than half of our dues-paying members have signed the pledge so far, and we know there’s more of you out there! Make a concrete commitment to wealth redistribution and help us make the majority of RG members signers of the Redistribution Pledge!

If you haven’t signed the pledge yet, we ask you to prioritize doing that in the next week. [[link removed]] Aligning with social justice philanthropy principles [[link removed]] means making concrete commitments over a set period of time and doing as much of your giving as possible early in the year. So take some time to make your plan, ask for support from people in your chapter or network, and commit to a number for this year.
