Allow me a moment to tell you the truth about why I am running to unseat Ken Buck. In my part of Colorado, all of America is represented: white collar professionals, ranchers, farmers, a growing Latino population, small towns and suburbs. 

But what my neighbors and friends don't have is representation—responsive policymakers and leaders who work every day to make life better for those who have made their homes and livelihoods here. 

Across 17 years holding public office, Ken Buck has done nothing—nothing except enrich himself and his corporate donors. His complete abdication of leadership has in fact made life worse here for so many. 

So I am writing to you today to ask for your help. Not just to throw a couple of dollars my way, but to invest in a real chance to change life here for thousands of people who need government to work for them and level the playing field so that they can have a fair shot at a good life. I have had my campaign team set an ambitious goal—$10,000 before the end of June—because we need leadership and a real campaign to beat Ken Buck once and for all.
