Friend, although some sectors of our economy are booming, there are still many residents and small businesses that are struggling.

That's why this month Mayor Kate Gallego and the Phoenix City Council approved a spending plan for the funds provided by the American Rescue Plan with a 'People First' strategy.

This plan takes care of our residents -- from the youngest to the most senior-- and businesses that are still hurting from the effects of the COVID recession by providing:

$31.5 million to assist individuals experiencing homelessness.

$28 million to help residents pay their mortgages, rent, and utilities.

$28.8 million for afterschool programs and youth sports.

$10 million for job training and childcare.

$8 million for businesses that are struggling to recover from the pandemic.

$5 million for vaccines, including mobile outreach.

We are putting money where it matters and where it will make the most impact. Phoenicians from across our great city will be seeing the benefits of the American Rescue Plan.

If you're ready to support our grassroots campaign that has always used a 'People First' strategy, please consider chipping in today!

Thank you for all that you do,

-- Team Kate
