John,
CWA telecom members like me work hard to keep our broadband networks up and running, even through a pandemic. We know firsthand that too many of us still do not have access to the affordable, reliable broadband we need for school, work, telemedicine, and other essential needs.
Broadband buildout is a hot topic with policy makers, and CWA members from every part of our union need to share our experiences and expertise as workers and customers to make sure it is done right.
That’s why I’m so excited to invite you to a special event featuring Jessica Rosenworcel, Acting Chairwoman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)! The FCC is the government agency responsible for communications law and regulation.
Join us on Tuesday, June 29 at 7:30 pm ET/ 6:30 pm CT/ 5:30 pm MT/ 4:30 pm PT for our virtual fireside chat. Acting FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel will be joined by CWA President Chris Shelton and a group of CWA members from our Build Broadband Better project. RSVP here: https://cwa.org/fccchat
You’ll be able to ask questions, and learn how the FCC is addressing the pressing need for affordable, reliable broadband service and what CWA members can do to help promote broadband access in our communities.
Please make sure you RSVP by June 25!
The discussion will be moderated by CWA District 4 Vice President Linda Hinton.
I hope you’ll join us next week! Feel free to share this link with other CWA members: https://cwa.org/fccchat
In unity,
Misty Robertson
