Dear John,

Right now there is growing pressure in Washington to cut Americans’ earned benefits under the guise of “saving” or “reforming” Social Security and Medicare. And in the immediate days and weeks ahead, lawmakers will be facing a number of important spending decisions that could impact the critical programs relied on by millions of older Americans.

Instead of working overtime to protect and strengthen your retirement and health security, some lawmakers may see this looming debate as an “opportunity” to slash Social Security and Medicare, and other programs relied on by millions of older Americans.

That’s why I urge you to please make one urgent donation of $10 or $5 or whatever you can afford today to support the National Committee’s full-scale campaign to defend and improve Social Security and Medicare benefits for current and future beneficiaries!

With your support, members of your National Committee advocacy team and I will be taking your message of support for boosting and improving Social Security and Medicare where it can get the most attention: in online meetings with lawmakers and their staff in Washington, in op-ed articles written for national newspapers, and radio and television interviews across the country.

As someone with a personal stake in the outcome of this important debate, please support the National Committee’s fight in Washington to strengthen the benefits you’ve paid into and are counting on for a secure retirement by making one donation today! Your action today could make a huge difference to you, your family and millions of others.

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO
