No one should face discrimination in the workplace -- no matter who you are, what you look like, who you love, or how old you are.

Unfortunately, a recent survey found that three out of five workers who are 45 and older have seen or experienced age discrimination on the job. And age discrimination plays a significant role in the longterm unemployment of older workers.

Americans are working more and for longer than ever before, and yet, older workers are at greater risk of age discrimination in the workplace than they were a decade ago.

In 2009, the Supreme Court handed down a decision that weakened legal protections against age discrimination in the workplace. The ruling made it extremely difficult for older workers to prove age discrimination -- much more difficult than it is for workers to prove other types of discrimination.

The bill I’m co-sponoring would restore legal anti-discrimination protections for workers 40 and older and hold employers accountable for age discrimination.
