We're treating climate change like what it is in California -- an emergency.

Hey everyone-

Here in California, we have made record investments to protect our communities against climate change: strengthening clean air laws, the single largest investment in wildfire preparedness in our state’s history, requiring cars sold be zero-emission vehicles by 2035, and much more.

We’re treating climate change like what it is — an emergency.

But we cannot do this alone. So I’ve written a letter to the Biden-Harris Administration and Congress asking them to include money to fight climate change as part of the American Jobs and American families plan, and I want you to add your name to mine:

Please sign my petition calling on Congress to make federal investments that will help protect our communities from the impact of climate change.

If you want to know why things are the way they are today with the climate crisis, look at the decisions of the past in this country and around the world.

Last year California experienced a historic wildfire season. We set a WORLD record temperature in Death Valley. Orange skies covered our state and headlights and porch lights stayed on all day.

Who can ever forget this photo:

But if we want to get a look at what our future will look like, we must consider the decisions we are making today.

We’re doing our part in California with record investments, but we cannot do it alone:

Please sign my petition calling on Congress to make federal investments that will help protect our communities from the impact of climate change.

Climate change is the change that is changing everything. And you can count on me to take it seriously. We need Congress to do the same.
