Save the Children Action Network is the political voice for kids.

10-year old Aisah* studies in a Save the Children temporary learning centre after her school was destroyed during the conflict in Marawi City, the Philippines.

Yesterday was World Refugee Day. Send a message to your members of Congress: refugee and displaced children need our help to grow, learn and live healthy lives.

Hi John -

In the Philippines, the sound of constant gunfire frightened 10-year-old Aisah* as a local armed group burned down schools and homes. Terrified, Aisah’s entire family – 7 children, their father and pregnant mother – fled their home and left everything they knew behind.

They now live in a “tent city” sheltered by only a tarp. Aisah attends a temporary learning center run by Save the Children – but far too many displaced children like her do not have access to an education.

World Refugee Day is an important moment to think about the record numbers of refugees and displaced people around the world. It’s also a time to act in support of the millions of refugee children who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict. They struggle to access critical services like a quality education.

Tell your members of Congress today – we need to support and fund education for refugee and displaced children impacted by conflict.

Aisah’s story is tragic, but it is not unique – countless children have had their education disrupted due to violence and conflict. These children have the right to grow up and become whoever they want – doctors, teachers or fruit vendors like Aisah’s parents once were. By taking action today, you can help kids like Aisah pursue their dreams.

Urge your members of Congress to provide robust assistance to support continued access to education for refugees and other displaced children.

Thank you for being a voice for kids,
