Wherever Democrats are in control bad policy, high taxes, poverty, violence, and division follow. There is not a city run by Democrats that has not seen a huge spike in violent crime, hate and government action aimed at destroying our culture and society especially among minorities. The Democrat Party has not changed its ways. We must remember the Ku Klux Klan was an organization made up primarily of Democrats bent on disrupting the reforms and independence brought about by the Republican Party with the Emancipation Proclamation during the Civil War. Today we see similar organizations meant to undermine and destroy our country. They are being enabled and funded by Democrats. Make no mistake that the edgy named groups such as Antifa and Black Lives Matter serve the purpose of disrupting law and order and furthering the Democrat agenda. The Democrat strategies of gender bending and Critical Race Theory are only there to undermine the foundational beliefs of our country based on equality and to divide and conquer a population through hate. Where you see Democrat controlled areas you see hate promoted. No one can forget what happened last summer in Democrat cities; everyone can see the escalating rhetoric echoed by the out-of- control media and Big Tech designed to promote hate and division. It is no wonder that parents and others are upset and worried at what they see being pushed in our schools. Hate is rampant and now Democrats want to institute it as part of the very foundation of our education system. Our country cannot survive what is going on. WE need to get out there and make sure that people understand that the Republican Party is the way and only solution to stop the planned destruction of our country. DESANTIS AND CABINET HONOR 200 YEARS OF FLORIDA SHERIFFS This week, state Attorney General Ashley Moody presented a Florida Cabinet resolution commemorating 200 years of Florida sheriffs. Sheriffs Association President Sheriff Bobby Schultz, as well as FSA Vice President Sheriff Bobby McCallum and FSA Executive Director Steve Casey, attended the Cabinet meeting to accept the resolution—passed unanimously by Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida Cabinet. “For 200 years, our state has benefited from the Office of the Sheriff in Florida. What began as an appointed position in 1821, soon became a vital office safeguarding the lives and property of Floridians. Over the past two centuries, Florida Sheriffs have worked to uphold the rule of law and protect Floridians while improving our state through unparalleled civic engagement, breaking cycles of crime and changing the lives of troubled youth,” Moody said on Tuesday. “Because of the Florida sheriffs, we have countless programs and initiatives throughout our state contributing to a stronger and safer environment for all Floridians. Thank you, to all our great sheriffs, past and present, for your service and commitment to our state and the citizens who live here,” she added. “Much like the great state of Florida, the Office of Sheriff has grown and evolved over the last 200 years. Today, sheriffs work tirelessly every day to serve and protect our communities. Thank you General Moody, Governor DeSantis and the Florida Cabinet for honoring this historic anniversary,” Schultz said. In 1821, Florida Military Commissioner Governor Andrew Jackson first established the Florida Office of the Sheriff by appointing sheriffs to Florida’s first two counties. Jackson appointed Henri Pierre as sheriff of Escambia County and James Hannan as sheriff of St. John’s County. In 1885, the state of Florida authorized the Office of the Sheriff in the Florida Constitution. Over the next 100 years, Florida established 67 counties throughout the state, each including a sheriff’s office. Throughout the past two centuries, Florida Sheriffs have created numerous initiatives to better our state and the communities they serve, including: The Florida Department of Law Enforcement; The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches; The Florida Law Enforcement Academy; and The Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. While Florida sheriffs are celebrating the bicentennial of the Office of Sheriff all year, the anniversary of the office is observed on July 21. TAGS GOVERNOR DESANTIS SIGNS LEGISLATION REQUIRING A MOMENT OF SILENCE IN SCHOOLS Governor Ron DeSantis was joined this week by members of the Florida Legislature and leaders in the Jewish community at the Shul of Bal Harbour to sign HB 529. The bill requires Florida schools to hold a daily moment of silence. The Governor and Florida Leaders said the following: “Every family in our state should be able to send their children to school and know that they will be protected from harm and be able to practice their faith,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “I’m proud to sign these bills today to help protect religious freedom in Florida and increase the safety and security of our Jewish communities. I will continue to make sure that in Florida we root out anti-Semitism, and that every day we show our support for Israel and our Jewish communities. “We know that many children struggle with mental health issues, which impact them, their families, and their schools most of all,” said Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran. “HB 529 empowers families to begin those ongoing conversations with their child on what they might reflect on during the moment of silence and help them use this time as an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming day.” “In this often times frantic pace of modern life, students need a moment to gather themselves in a quiet moment of reflection,” said Senator Dennis Baxley. “Who knows how much a moment of silence and reflection may direct their day?” IRC COMMISSIONERS REFUSE TO VOTE ON SAFE HARBOR ORDINANCE Republicans for Life and other pro-life supporters of the Safe Harbor Ordinance proposal asked the commissioners to sponsor the ordinance with a vote, but Chairman Joseph E. Flescher said the commissioners do not have the ability to approve it. Flescher told the pro-life speakers that while he agreed with their faith-based arguments, the Supreme Court had decided the matter and the state had laws to consider as well. According to state law, abortions are allowed up to 24 weeks into a pregnancy with late term exceptions made in emergency cases. The Safe Harbor Ordinance would have banned abortions past 20 weeks. The proposal would also have required clinics in the county to provide women seeking to terminate a pregnancy with more information on possible alternatives and health effects.
