Hello John,
My father came to the U.S. in the early 60s working under the Bracero program. He sent back what little money he had to my mother, my three siblings, and I at our home in Los Pinos, a small village in the Mexican state of Durango. I often think of his sacrifice, the years he spent alone, away from his family, and the life that he was able to give to our family because of his sacrifice and hard work.
And it is the deep gratitude and the sense of purpose my father instilled in me that call me to fight for my own children, my grandchildren, and the world that we will leave behind for generations yet to come.

Record setting temperatures, once-a-century storms becoming once-a-year storms, millions of displaced peoples around the world, water scarcity, droughts and wildfires -- this all is just the tip of the iceberg of our ongoing climate crisis. But I'm fighting back to do something about it.
