Team --

When you run for president, they tell you to treat it like a marathon, not a sprint. There are never enough hours. It's not always easy.

But you run for president because you care about our nation and the people who call it home. I'm running because I love my country and know I'd bring change for every American -- not just the few people at the top -- to the Oval Office.

The other thing they tell you is, well, how critical it is to raise money. That's why I want to be frank with you: we're pacing behind where we need to be for October.

We're almost halfway through the month, but we're not halfway towards reaching our $3 million October fundraising goal to fund the campaign this month. Will you chip in to get us closer?

My campaign manager, Addisu, told the world last week that we have to raise almost $3 million -- $2,998,771 to be exact -- in October to cover our campaign expenses and continue to grow a movement that can win.

Over the past eight months, I've had the opportunity to meet hardworking Americans across the nation and hear directly from them about what a better America for all should look like. I've heard from grieving parents in New Hampshire about the loss of their daughter to the opioid epidemic. This is an issue that's sweeping America and I've pledged my support to tackle the very serious problem our country is facing.

I've heard from a concerned young woman in Iowa about what I'd do to bring the country together to stop the gun violence plaguing our nation. She moved to Decorah a year ago from Las Vegas after the shooting. She courageously fought through tears explaining how the shooting changed her life forever -- all while being accompanied by her eight-year-old sister.

It's conversations like these that have inspired the things that I will fight for beginning on day one of entering the White House. But if that is going to become a reality, we need to get back on track for fundraising this month.

I'm asking for your support, friend. Will you step up to get our fundraising trajectory back on track? Chip in $5 to close the gap.
