Get involved, start where you live. Even in an off election year the Democrats of El Dorado County are involved in important work to preserve democracy, fight for the values necessary to a democratic society, and make our county a better place to live and work. Currently, the following actions are what we are working on: Registering the 15,000 residents in El Dorado County who are eligible to vote but are not registered Reaching out to newly registered voters in EDC Reaching out to folks who have recently left the Republican party to become Democrats or “decline to state” voters Supporting Governor Newsom in a recall election Becoming proficient in learning new voter outreach technologies Being available to help community members in need Identifying progressive candidates to run for local elections, including the board of supervisors and to serve on county commissions Helping to educate community members about climate change initiatives, including but not limited to preparing for wildfires, dealing with drought, and recycling Engaging in social initiatives which include but are not limited to housing, social justice, healthcare, and broadband implementation. As you can imagine this does not come without a cost. Much of our “labor” is done by the many active volunteers in the county who do it without compensation, however the technologies we require, printing, mailing, and texting all cost money. The El Dorado County Democratic Central Committee would be very appreciative of any amount you could donate to help us achieve these goals.
