I'll be candid: We're still $1,700 short of our $5,000 fundraising goal. Let me tell you why meeting this goal is so crucial for our campaign.

 

As you know, the GOP has funnelled all of their energy and money into making sure that Democrats can never gain a legislative majority again. By disenfranchising millions of voters nationwide through voter ID requirements and needless voter registration restrictions, the GOP has tried to cheat their way to victory in the 2022 midterms.

 

The good news is we're not too late. We've got slightly more than a year until the midterm elections, so with the right tools, we can hit the ground running to make sure every American who wants to vote is able. And we can support strong Democrats to outshine the most dangerous GOP operatives.

 

But we can't accomplish any of this without meeting (and surpassing!) each of our fundraising goals from now until November 2022. Losing my seat would put our Democratic majority at serious risk of becoming the minority party again, and I'm not so confident that we could take back the House if that happened.

 

That's why meeting our fundraising goal matters so much -- to me, to my staff, to our constituents, and to Americans across the country who count on Congress to make their lives better.
