John, this feels familiar:
Hillary Clinton endorsed Nina Turner's opponent in the primary for Ohio's 11th Congressional District — proving that, once again, she'll endorse the establishment candidate who will continue to uphold the status quo in Washington.
This feels familiar because it happened to us, too, John. Last year, Clinton endorsed Jamaal's opponent — a 31-year incumbent, establishment Democrat. But ultimately, her endorsement wasn't successful; our progressive movement prevailed and sent Jamaal to Congress to fight for our values.
It's disappointing to see that even a year later, establishment Democrats will do everything it can to stop our growing movement in its tracks, John. On one hand, it's sad to see the lengths they'll go to further uplift establishment candidates who have millions of dollars from lobbyists and other dark money sources. But on the other hand, we've seen and defeated this playbook before.
There's no doubt that with Hillary Clinton's endorsement, Nina's opponent will see a huge wave of establishment money and support. We need to send that same level of grassroots support to Nina right away.
Early voting begins in Ohio in just a few weeks, and take it from us, John: in a race like this, every ballot will count.
