Folks — Today we celebrate the fathers and father figures who have made positive impacts on our lives.
My father is such an important part of my life, and worked hard to give me access to opportunities that have gotten me where I am today. From the wisdom that my father has imparted upon me, to the knowledge and wisdom he’s shared with my husband and now my sons, our family shares generations of love that keep us going strong. Without the love, support, and guidance of my father — I don’t know where we would be. I want to thank him and all the dads and father figures on this day.

Folks — This year will be the first time in a long time we’ll be able to gather together. While a lot of us are looking forward to seeing each other again, this day can be painful for others, spending the day without their fathers or fatherly figures. After the losses we all experienced through the COVID-19 pandemic, this holiday will forever be different for many families in our communities. My heart is with anyone who is struggling today.
Fathers and father figures are crucial to our development. From wiping tears to cleaning boo-boos and mending broken hearts, being a dad is a demanding full-time job, with no days off. I’m so appreciative of the sacrifices my father made for my well being, and I want to wish all of the dads the happiest, most relaxing Father’s Day!
