Hi, we’re Amina and Mireya, and John King Jr. is our dad!

It’s pretty surreal to have your family member run for office, but we couldn’t be more proud that our dad is running for governor. So on this Father’s Day, we wanted to write you all a note to celebrate our dad, Maryland’s next governor.

Our dad has been a role model to us throughout our entire lives. We’ve always looked up to him and admired his unmatched compassion, hard work, and commitment to progress that has allowed him to accomplish so much. He has taught us how to persevere, how to be strong, how to fight for what is right, and how to follow our biggest dreams, no matter how unattainable they may seem. From coaching softball practices and attending soccer games, to bringing us flowers at performances and recitals, to being there for us when we need a shoulder to cry on, our dad has always shown us endless support and love. We know he puts much of the same care and attention into his work as a leader and an advocate. There is no doubt in our minds that our dad is the right person to lead our state.
