We fought long and hard over the past four years, and while we’ve defeated Trump and made a lot of progress in just 6 short months, there is still a long way to go in defeating Trumpism and stopping the Right’s attacks on our democracy..
But we’ve missed our mid-month membership goal and we need another 73 new or renewed members by midnight tonight to catch up or we will fall short this month and have to scale back our efforts!
The events that have unfolded since the 2020 election prove the danger that the Far Right poses has not and will not go away easily…
… we witnessed Trump and his supporters fabricate the Big Lie that the election was “stolen” despite no evidence to back up these claims-- a lie that continues to be perpetuated by Trump’s supporters to this day…
… we witnessed Trump’s supporters storm the U.S. Capitol in an insurrection to overturn the will of the people by attempting to halt certification of the 2020 election – nearly toppling our democracy in a desperate bid to keep power-hungry Trump in office…
… we continue to witness the Far Right’s attacks on our right to vote to prevent future election losses – with more than 390 bills in 48 states and counting…
… we also see a continued rise in far-right extremism, with domestic terrorism incidents reaching their highest levels in nearly a quarter century…
Will you join us in fighting back against the Right and its assault on progressive values, our democracy, and the American Way? Nobody is better positioned to fight back than we are right at this very moment…
People For is fighting hard to hold Trump and those involved in the January 6 insurrection accountable; we’re pushing at the national level to get legislation like the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act passed in Congress to protect our access to the ballot from these far-right attacks; and we continue monitoring and reporting on the rise in violent domestic extremism with our intrepid team of reporters at Right Wing Watch, and so much more.
