President Biden: The American Jobs Plan is a Once-in-a-Generation Chance
for a 100% Clean Energy Future
Some members of Congress are doing everything they can to delay or weaken
the landmark American Jobs Plan. Tell President Biden to stand strong and
move forward with a plan that will create jobs, invest in our communities,
and combat the climate crisis — before it's too late.

NRDC Action Fund Activist – In Pittsburgh, unemployment is at 8.4 percent. The
city's aging infrastructure is crumbling. And decades of toxic air
pollution have put communities at greater risk of conditions like asthma,
heart disease, and lung disease.
But it's not just Pittsburgh. In communities across America, many people
are out of work, infrastructure is falling into greater disrepair, climate
change's impacts are worsening, and toxic fossil fuel pollution is choking
the air. And these communities are disproportionately low-income, Black,
brown, and Indigenous.
That's the bad news.
Here's the good news: President Biden's American Jobs Plan will invest in
our nation's infrastructure and turbocharge the transition away from
dirty, climate-destroying fossil fuels by expanding wind and solar power
and funding energy efficiency upgrades to homes and buildings. And what's
more, his plan will create millions of new, high-quality clean energy jobs
across the country.
But some in Congress are doing everything they can to delay, weaken, and
kill his essential plan — and we're in danger of losing this
once-in-a-generation opportunity for bold climate action.
[ [link removed] ]Tell President Biden now: Don't give in — stand strong and keep moving
forward with the desperately needed American Jobs Plan!
As you read this, some lawmakers are scheming to slash the American Jobs
Plan to just 15 percent or less of Biden's original proposal. They're more
concerned about saving their big polluter friends' fortunes than fixing
our nation's infrastructure, creating high-quality jobs, protecting
communities from the droughts, heat waves, and winter storms that are
happening more and more often, or investing in the clean energy future we
need to avert climate catastrophe.
This plan simply can't wait — and we're running out of time. We must pass
the American Jobs Plan THIS YEAR, while we still have pro-environment
majorities in both houses of Congress. If we don't do this now, we have no
guarantee of a pro-environment Congress after the 2022 midterm elections.
[ [link removed] ]It's up to us: President Biden needs to hear from as many people as
possible who are counting on him to pass a strong American Jobs Plan. Will
you tell Biden you stand with him in support of the AJP?
The American Jobs Plan is a stirring vote of confidence in the nation's
future. It will make critical, job-creating infrastructure investments
that accelerate the shift to a clean energy economy ... speed up the
transition to electric vehicles and low-carbon transit for all ... protect
communities from toxic pollution left behind by abandoned oil and gas
wells ... and replace millions of dangerous lead pipes to ensure safe
drinking water for all.
These are essential national priorities. Combined with other vital work,
such as rebuilding aging bridges, roads, and ports, this investment will
create or sustain 15 million high-quality jobs over the coming decade. And
it'll deliver 40 percent of the economic, environmental, and health
benefits to disadvantaged communities.
Also, the American Jobs Plan is the key to making good on Biden's pledge
to cut the U.S. carbon footprint in half by 2030 and stop adding carbon
pollution to the atmosphere altogether by 2050 — which is what science
tells us we must do in order to avert the worst impacts of the climate
crisis.
[ [link removed] ]Send President Biden a clear message: Strong climate action is
non-negotiable. Don't sacrifice our future to opposition in Congress. Pass
the American Jobs Plan without delay.
Thank you for being a committed partner in this urgent fight.
Sincerely,
