Can you believe it’s been 35 years since we published the first Environmental Scorecard? 

 

35 years of tracking legislative votes and reporting them back to you.  

 

35 years of holding lawmakers accountable.

 

35 years of being the voice for Maine’s environment and our democracy. 

 

We couldn’t have done it without you and other Conservation Voters like you. Thank you for believing that Maine is worth fighting for.

 

Today - on this first day of summer - I am asking you to take another important step. 

 

In honor of our 35th anniversary, will you consider joining our monthly donor program, Kennebec Friends, with a recurring gift of $10 or more?

 

We are looking for 35 new monthly donors by the last day of summer, September 22nd. And if we hit this goal, an additional $3,500 in matching funds will be released by a generous donor.

Monthly gifts are easy and safe to make and you’re always in control of your giving. It provides the crucial ongoing funds needed to keep fighting for Maine. Only with your help can MCV continue to be the leader in environmental advocacy and political action in Maine.

And we are making progress. In recent weeks, through the advocacy of members like you, we secured the passage of an act to extend the time frame for processing absentee ballots, a ban on bee-killing toxic herbicides on lawns and yards, and the approval of a science-based sea level rise projection of 1.5 feet by 2050 - the first step in building resilient coastal communities and enhancing ecosystems in the face of climate change.
