SETTLING INTO MY NEW PLACE

Prepping in a Tiny House?
Sounds crazy, right?

But this is my newest prepper experiment. 😂

If you've been following the website for very long, you'll know that I've prepped in many different situations. Partly because I savor adventure and change, partly because it's where life took us, and partly because I wanted to learn more.

We've prepped in an urban apartment, a little cabin in the Algonquin Forest heated only with wood, on a little homestead in California, in suburbia, while living a nomadic lifestyle in Europe, in a condo by the beach in Mexico, and now, I'm going to hopefully help tackle some of the problems folks living in small places are experiencing while trying to get prepped.

For the next 6 months or so I'll be living in a 350 square foot tiny house. This worked out well for me because a) I sold all my furniture a few years ago when I went to Europe, b) it was completely ready to move into, minus dishes, cookware, and linens, which I had in storage. All the furniture is built-in so it's really just a matter of unpacking and organizing.

Now, this place is just adorable and it was designed to make use of every single nook and cranny. Some of the things I show you will work for people who own their homes and can cut into their drywall to make little storage areas, but not so well for renters. Other suggestions will be applicable for those renting apartments, because like you, I cannot change anything structurally here.

My goal is to first build a 3 month supply of food to stash here and then bump it up to 6 months.

I'll be sharing the challenges as I go along, including storing water, worrying about the weight of my supplies in the loft, and figuring out where on earth to put all that stuff! I hope that many of you will find it useful.

I'm loving the neck knife that I got on my trip over here when I met with Terry Trahan. It's now my constant accessory.

If you've been following the website defunding saga, be sure to tune into The Survival Preppers with Brian Duff and Dale Goodwin next Friday at 7:30 Eastern time on YouTube. It's a live show so be sure to join in the chat as we discuss how and why the site was defunded, my unusual prepping methods, and lots more. Subscribe to the channel here and I'll send out a reminder on Friday so we can hang out. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

I've been incredibly happy to be living near one of my daughters - we hadn't seen each other in nearly a year due to travel restrictions. I hope fervently the border to Canada reopens soon so I can see my other girl.  We're now at a year and a half apart and it's heartbreaking. 😢

WHAT I'VE BEEN READING THIS WEEK
I haven't had as much time as usual to read this week, but I have a few good articles to share.

This first one, I got from Greg Ellifritz's "Weekly Knowledge Dump." There's always some gold in those dumps. 🤣 I strongly recommend you subscribe.

Do You See the Threats?  This is an incredible article about situational awareness as a philosophy and way of life.

Places to Avoid This Summer This is another one from Greg, in which he researches the places where you're most likely to encounter violence this season.

Entire Portland Police Rapid Response Team Resigns After Officer Indicted for Breaking Up Antifa Riot Hey, they didn't want a police department in Portland anyway. I don't blame those officers one bit.

As you may know,  The Organic Prepper website has been defunded for being a "disinformation website."

We refuse to put up a paywall and are committed to keeping our information free and available to everyone.

We humbly ask you to help us to keep bringing you the information you come here for by helping to sponsor this website. Every amount helps. We have options for one-time donations and monthly sponsorships.

THANK YOU

Reader support is still coming in after I announced earlier this week that The Organic Prepper has been defunded and deemed a "disinformation blog."  All of us on the team thank you from the bottom of our hearts and pledge to continue bringing you reliable information, opinions to consider, and personal stories.
