“We spent nearly two hours with President Trump, who’s in great spirits. We
talked for most of the time about the work that the Republican Study Committee
is doing to define the agenda for the future course of the Republican Party,
which is fighting for the Trump agenda,” Banks said. “We talked about our
election integrity bill, The Save Democracy Act, which he was very supportive
of, and we talked about what we’ve done to defineimmigration moving forward.”

According to one source in the room, Trump referred to the Indiana Republican
as the “new type of leader we need in the party.”

NAVY CHIEF DODGES QUESTIONS ON IBRAM KENDI’S EXTREMISM AFTER RECOMMENDING HIS
BOOK TO SAILORS

Banks, a U.S. Navy reservist, began by asking Gilday if he agreed with Kendi’s
past statements and views in his book that Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney
Barrett is a “white colonizer” because she adopted two children from Haiti, and
that capitalism is essentially racist.

 

Gilday responded, “Here’s what I know, Congressman. There’s racism in the
United States Navy.”

 

Banks cut off Gilday, “It’s a yes or no question, Admiral. Admiral, you
recommended that every sailor in the United States Navy read this book.”
