Happy Juneteenth, team!

Today, we're celebrating the emancipation of our ancestors. It was on June 19, 1865, that the last enslaved Black Americans were finally freed in Galveston, Texas -- nearly two and a half years after slavery was outlawed.

Juneteenth is our Independence Day. And it's our chance to recognize how far we've come, celebrate our community, and recommit to the fight for freedom and equality for ALL Black Americans.

We've been fighting back against a racist and unjust system since we were first brought to this country. Our struggle didn't end with slavery, and we're still demanding justice and equality at the ballot box, in our criminal justice system, in housing, in health care, and more.

Until our Constitution embodies its ideals of liberty and justice for all -- we won't stop this important work. It's why we launched Vote To Live to combat racist voter suppression and defend our right to vote. And it's why we're organizing to build lasting Black political power 365 days a year.

Today's celebrations are not just about the past, but the freedom which still awaits us as we continue to build a brighter future for our sons and daughters. Happy Juneteenth, from all of us, to you and your loved ones!
