[ [link removed] ]Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Congress

We’re at a fork in the road.

Do we settle for an infrastructure package that has been largely designed
by Republicans in order to get 60 “bipartisan” votes?

Or do we fight for a bill that does more for working people and creates
millions of union jobs, revamps our power grid, rebuilds bridges and
schools, and lowers climate emissions with 51 votes? *

Many decisions will be made in the coming weeks on what path to take and
which measures to fight for in the infrastructure package. That’s why
we’re asking today for your input:

[ [link removed] ]We want
to know: what path do you support and which measures – from climate action
to abolishing Trump’s tax cuts to lowering Medicare eligibility – are most
important to you in this bill?

[ [link removed] ]Share your thoughts

Alexandria has been very clear that this infrastructure package is our
opportunity to go big and prioritize climate action while creating
millions of union-jobs – not waste time debating about bipartisanship and
pleasing special interests.

We’ve seen that bipartisan deals too often leave behind already
underserved communities while corporate interests take center stage.

The goal must be passing a bill that helps working people the most – and
the process of how we get there is less important. We need to ask
ourselves: are we passing a bill that creates the most jobs? Brings down
the most climate emissions? Raises wages and actually improves our
infrastructure for the next generation?

Passing a deal whose scope is defined by a Republican minority that has
not been elected to lead and that does very little to support working
people or protect our planet is not good policy or politics.

[ [link removed] ]We know that this package isn’t the best that we can get. Will you take
a few minutes to share your thoughts on how our movement should proceed
and what policies are most important to you?

The clock is ticking to pass an infrastructure package before Congress
goes on recess, so please don’t wait.

We’ll use these responses to help inform our strategy over the next few
weeks as Alexandria fights for the best deal for working people.

Thanks for taking the time,

Team AOC

* Passing this bill with 51 votes is possible if it is done through the
reconciliation process. Budget reconciliation is a special parliamentary
procedure in Congress set up to expedite the passage of certain budgetary
legislation in the Senate.
