[1]Cori Bush

I’m going to be blunt with you,
John.

I’m sick and tired of watching Republicans and Conservative Democrats
trample on the legislation our communities urgently need.

When you’ve lived out of a car with your babies, you know that affordable
housing isn’t just a nice idea, it’s a necessity.

When you’ve seen your neighbors lose their lives to police violence, you
know that defunding the police and investing in our communities isn’t just
a catchphrase, but an urgent call to save Black lives.

When you’ve been forced to decide between affording groceries and
utilities, you know that the “handouts” Republicans keep attacking are
life-saving policies for families that our own tax dollars have funded.

These are the struggles that so many of us have lived. These struggles are
why I ran for office and why I’m working every day to create a new kind of
politics rooted in love and compassion.

But the challenges we face right now in Congress — from the Jim Crow
filibuster, to the dark money funding too many of our elected officials’
campaigns — have made it clear that it’s going to take a widespread,
grassroots effort to bring these transformative policies to life.

anything you can so we can continue growing our progressive movement and
pass the change our communities need?

When you love all of humanity, you care that everyone is housed. You care
that everyone is fed. You care that everyone is safe. You care that
everyone has health care. You care that everyone has an education.

This is what I’m striving for. It seems like common sense — but dark
money, white supremacy, disinformation, and our broken political system
have made this vision, a divisive one.

The challenges we face are immense. But I know that when we work together,
we have the power to move mountains.

Even just in our first few months in Congress, we’ve pushed the needle on
issues like racial justice and health care — all because of folks like
you, John.

You are part of a larger people-powered movement that’s gaining momentum
and transforming the way we do politics. Together, we are making progress
and demanding the change we deserve.

That’s why today I’m asking for a favor: I’m ready to keep working for
policies that lift ALL of us up, but I can’t do this alone. I need your
support as we organize and legislate in Congress for an agenda that puts
people first. [ [link removed] ]If you can afford it, will you chip in $5
or anything you can to help us continue doing this work?

Thank you for all of your support.

Your Congresswoman loves you,

Cori
