Equality before the law is one of the most important constitutional safeguards of individual liberty. When public institutions ignore this protection, the rule of law is in jeopardy.
That’s what the school board and superintendent of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJ) did when it implemented race-based admissions standards to limit the number of Asian-American students.

Antique dealers fight for right to display what they’re allowed to sell
Manhattan’s antique district is filled with galleries where customers can physically inspect valuable antiques before buying them. But shops cannot display all the merchandise they are allowed to sell, including antiques containing ivory that are at least 100 years old. While allowed by federal law, the state forbids sales of antiques with more than 20% ivory to New Yorkers and prohibits their display in New York dealers’ stores.
Government cannot ban displays of items that are legal to sell. So two trade associations are fighting back on behalf of their members.
