With our first major fundraising deadline quickly approaching, I'll get straight to the point:

I'm reaching out to ask you to split a $3 donation between our campaign for Senate in North Carolina and Val Demings’ campaign for Senate in Florida.

Val just launched her campaign for Senate against Marco Rubio, and now we both are facing our first official FEC fundraising deadline.

All eyes are going to be on our campaigns’ fundraising numbers when we publicly report them after the deadline. Our opponents and the media will want to see if we have what it takes to win our races.

At a moment when there are no African American women in the Senate, they know that Val and I are Democrats’ best chance to change that and expand our majority.

But the truth is, African American women have historically faced more obstacles to running for office — particularly when it comes to fundraising. That’s why I want to make this special request of you today to support both of us.

When Val and I win, we’ll double the number of African American women who’ve ever served in the U.S. Senate. It will be hard work - but Val and I are ready for the challenge, and with your grassroots support, we can do this!

Will you split a $3 donation between Val Demings’ campaign and my campaign for U.S. Senate? With the FEC deadline quickly approaching, every donation gets us one step closer to flipping these seats and making history.
