Friends,
This week I continued to fight for more effective and realistic policies for Texas here in DC. I sent a letter to United States Attorney General Merrick Garland to withdraw proposed guidance on stabilizing braces in order to protect the right of law abiding citizens, as well as disabled veterans across the country. Wednesday I also stressed the importance of my legislation (H.R. 1452) to bring greater transparency to the formula used to allocate COVID-19 vaccines to states like Texas.
Helping constituents with problems they are having with federal agencies continues to be a top priority for my office. If you or someone you know are having an issue with a federal agency and need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office. I have a full team in Texas and in the nation's capital ready to assist you.
Sincerely,

In the letter we express "deep concern" over the guidance because it "jeopardizes the rights of law-abiding gun owners and disabled combat veterans across the country."

Wednesday I also stressed the importance of my legislation (H.R. 1452) to bring greater transparency to the formula used to allocate COVID-19 vaccines to states like Texas during an Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee hearing. My legislation would require the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to publish the formula for allocating COVID-19 to states and localities. This legislation is important to prepare for future pandemics, and ensure that allocation transparency is standard practice in the future.
