John,

California has been my home for so many years. My husband and I raised our daughters here. I served as a state legislator here, working to make this place an even more special, welcoming place for everyone.

We've struggled plenty during the pandemic, but Californians are resilient. That's why I was so thrilled to see this headline as I was reading the news the other day:

California defies Doom with no. 1 US Economy

I do want to make one thing clear: None of this progress is due to Mike Garcia, our current representative in Congress.

He voted against the American Rescue Plan, a COVID-19 relief bill that helped fund vaccinations, school reopenings, small businesses, and more.

He constantly criticizes policies made by the CA state legislature. He dunks on the state all the time on Twitter, talking about how it is deteriorating...

Tweet from Mike Garcia: California was once the state people flocked to for a shot at the American Dream. But now it is collapsing under the weight of disastrous policy, and Washington progressives want to impart those same failing acts onto the entire country.

Well, Mike, if you're unhappy with how things are going, maybe start voting with California's best interests in mind! Or better yet, leave your seat in Congress to someone who actually cares about the state.

I care. I love it here, and I want to make sure CA remains a great place to live and thrive. Chip in $5 or anything you can to flip this seat and elect someone who will help achieve even more progress for this state.

Thanks so much -- and Mike, maybe take a pause before tweeting about how "crappy" a place California is to live…
