Friend, what comes to mind when you read the word “refugee”?
Maybe a bombed-out town filled with the rubble of homes. Or an overcrowded camp with shelters stretching for miles. Or a family making a treacherous journey only to be stuck at a country’s border.
But what if it was a young boy holding his stuffed bear -- a gift from his brother and the one possession he took when fleeing the conflict in Syria. Or an 11-year-old girl, who loves math and dreams of being a pediatrician one day. Or a father and son learning how to protect themselves from COVID-19 as they travel to safety.
These are the stories of refugees, Friend. They show us the big importance of a small possession. They show us resilience and hope for a brighter future. They also show us the immediate and acute needs of the millions of children caught up in the global migration crisis.
Ahead of World Refugee Day on Sunday, will you speak up for them? Call on your lawmakers to prioritize the rights of child migrants and refugees in U.S. policies. Please, it’ll only take two minutes to send your letter >>

Whether they’re arriving on the U.S. border, live in Cox’s Bazar -- the world’s largest refugee camp -- or are internally displaced in their home country, every child deserves to feel safe. Friend, we need federal leadership to put forth legislation that meets the urgent needs of child migrants and refugees and their families.

This includes protecting all migrant children from violence and exploitation, ensuring safe passages and transit and putting children’s rights at the center of our foreign policies.
Please, join us in calling on our leaders in Washington to put this vision into action in all migration policies. Send your letter to support migrant and refugee children ahead of World Refugee Day.
