Travel update in Nottingham 18 - 25 June


All adults are now eligible for vaccinations

Everyone over the age of 18 is now eligible to receive their Covid-19 vaccinations.

Vaccination is the most important thing we can do to help us continue along the roadmap and prevent any backward step where we might see the freedoms we are enjoying now close again.

Our vaccination sites are easily accessible with plenty of public transport routes available to get you where you need to be. For more information on transport options visit our website.

Ridewise bike library

Ridewise is offering city residents the opportunity to borrow kids and adult bikes for four weeks - and it's FREE!

The bike library is open from Sunday 20 June. Simply book your bikes, pick it up from one of Ridewise's three cycle centres, and pedal away! 

Availability is limited so get booking!

🚆 East Midlands Rail update

  • Following the launch of EMR's updated timetable on 16 May, some amendments have been made to regional services to ensure a more reliable service. A reduced timetable will be in effect from Saturday 19 June.
  • Please check your journey before you travel, and where possible avoid travelling during busy times.

Saturday 20 February - June 2021: Nuthall Road/Western Boulevard junction
Temporary traffic signals will be installed, to be in place until June, while work is carried out to install new permanent signals. Temporary pedestrian crossings will be provided.

This is part of a scheme to improve traffic flow and bus journey times at this busy junction.

Monday 7 September 2020 - Wednesday 28 July 2021: Cobden Street (Lenton)
Suspension of parking along Cobden Street to Stanfield Street junction on both sides due to demolition and redevelopment of old martial arts centre.

Monday 22 March - Autumn 2021: Valley Road (Basford)
We're carrying out works on the footpath that runs along Valley Road, including widening and resurfacing. A lane closure will be in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm. For more information visit our webpage.

Four way signals at the Parkside junction due to telecoms ducting installation.

Three way signals at the junction with Moorsholm Drive and lane closure to lay track in the footway and carriageway.

Parking bay suspension from no.57-73 due to new water connection.

Four way signals at the junction with Parkside to complete telecoms ducting works.

Lane closure for highway improvement works, including new kerb lines, paving, and footway and carriageway resurfacing.

Three way signals at the junctions of the above roads due to utility repair and maintenance works.

Road closure from the junction with Bobbers Mill Bridge to the junction with Darley Road due to electrical works.

Lane closure to trace then excavate and repair a gas escape, reinstating where possible.

Wednesday 16 June - Tuesday 22 June: Queens Drive (city centre)
Lane 1 closure with back to back lane 2 closure as required on Thursday, Friday and Monday night due to Philips Luma safety modifications.

Three way signals opposite Geneva Court and no.277 due to new connections.

Sunday 20 June: Queens Drive (Castle Marina)
Lane closure in place to create a safe pedestrian walkway outside unit 3 Portal Retail and Business Park while a 3m duct is laid from the chamber into the verge.

Two way signals at the junction with Glentworth Road to the junction with Alfreton Road to excavate the highway and install and reinstate ducts/cabling.

Rolling lane closure along the whole length for asset maintenance.

Two way signals outside no.49 for replacement of defective manhole frame and cover in carriageway.

Rolling road closure between Burford Road and Leslie Road due to water mains replacement scheme.


Western Power Distribution replacement programme

Western Power Distribution will be undertaking a major project to replace the 132kv cable on various roads in the city. This will include a rolling Road Closure along the route to excavate, install ducts & cables in the highway.

Friday 18 May - Wednesday 23 June: Bobbers Mill Road
Rolling road closure in place from the junction of Alfreton Road to the junction of Ashwell Gardens.

Monday 24 May - Tuesday 29 June: Radford Road
Rolling road closure from the junction of Wilkinson Street to outside the substation adjacent to no.630.

Monday 28 June - Monday 5 July: Glentworth Road
Road closure will be in place on the junction of Radford Boulevard to the junction of Churchfield Lane.


Highways England Clifton Bridge repairs

Highways England is continuing to carry out works to repair and strengthen the A52 Clifton Bridge. Works are expected to finish autumn 2021.
