Hi John,

You may have seen recent news that the Department
of Justice under President Trump secretly subpoenaed phone and
email records for dozens of reporters, Democratic members of
Congress, and their families. This was an unprecedented,
dangerous move of a paranoid tyrant petrified of anyone leaking
his problematic dealings.

Throughout his presidency, Trump tried to bully
those around him. He spied on those who refused to be bullied and
dared to defy him. While Democrats have gained control of
Congress, the members of Trump’s party who had the nerve to
criticize him have been virtually eliminated. The Republican
party of today has embraced Trump and his ideology.

We need Democrats to stay in control of Congress
to continue standing up for what’s right. Will you chip in today

Even after he left office, Republicans in Congress
have continued to follow Trump like blind mice. In a time when we
face so many daunting challenges that threaten our way of life,
we need courage from our country’s leaders, not cowardice.

I will always stand up for the freedom of the
press. But if Republicans take back control of Congress, they
would continue Trump’s hostile and unethical tactics towards the
media.
