“Why Virginia’s 2021 elections have national implications” -- CNN

Friend --

National forecasters are watching this year’s elections in Virginia for one big reason -- whatever the outcome is for Virginia Democrats this year could be the outcome for national Democrats next year.

That means the pressure is on to keep Virginia blue. Just like in 2017, our work this year will set the stage for the midterms. We’ll need to win big in the Commonwealth this November to create the momentum to keep control of Congress next year.

Will you help us keep Virginia blue? Make a contribution right now and give our organizers the resources they need to win.

This is an open secret in American politics: the party that wins the White House usually loses in Virginia the following year. Republicans see Virginia not only as a testing ground for their 2022 campaigns, but also as their first opportunity to retake power.

If they do well in Virginia, they’ll have momentum rolling into the midterms. If we keep Virginia blue, we can consolidate the progress we’ve made and keep moving forward. It really is that simple.

So pitch in today, and help us keep the Commonwealth blue.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support so far in this race. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished together already.

Let’s continue our fight for a better Virginia -- one where all Virginians have a seat at the table, instead of a spot on the menu.

Thanks for your support,
Virginia Election Update
